Olivet Nazarene University and Waubonsee Community College (WCC) recently entered into a new partnership initiative to help make students’ path to their bachelor’s degree smoother and more affordable. The Transfer Scholars Program is designed to simplify the transfer experience from WCC to Olivet through dual enrollment with dual academic advising. Students will receive support every step of the way in their higher education journey. This is a move toward making the “2 + 2” program a reality for most WCC students who complete their degrees at Olivet.
“I am excited about this new transfer agreement, as it provides our students with an efficient path to a bachelor’s degree,” said WCC’s Graduation and Transfer Coordinator Sarah Kocunik. “This creates a more affordable option for students to experience upper-level courses earlier in their college career.”
Beginning with the second semester, WCC students are eligible to enroll in the Transfer Scholars Advantage Program when:
They have successfully completed a minimum of nine credit hours in their chosen area of study at WCC.
They have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (2.75 for Nursing) on a 4.0 scale at WCC.
WCC students will also be eligible for a reduced tuition rate of $125 per credit hour for online Olivet courses they take while enrolled in this program. They can take classes online or in person, whatever fits their schedule.
“Olivet’s Transfer Scholars Advantage Program is a unique opportunity that allows students to be admitted to both Olivet and Waubonsee at the same time,” said Tiffany Holohan, program director. “Students will immediately benefit from the expertise of Olivet’s dedicated counselors plus personalized support and resources to ensure their smooth transition to full-time study at Olivet — whether online or on campus.”
