Olivet Nazarene University freshman Jayvion Daniels entered the record books of the 42-year-old Tiger football program on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018. He and the team also scored an impressive 42-28 win over long-time rival University of St. Francis (Illinois).

Jayvion was unstoppable, rushing for a new ONU record of 274 yards in 26 attempts. He also crossed the goal line four times, tying the single-game rushing touchdown record.

The Tigers compete in the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) conference, affiliated with the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Jayvion now holds the Olivet Tiger single-game rushing record, breaking the record set by Greg Huff in 1986. He is also tied with five other players for single-game rushing touchdowns with four.

A business major with a marketing concentration, Jayvion is from Lima, Ohio.

Tiger football will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27, hosting Indiana Wesleyan University as part of the 2018 Homecoming celebration. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Ward Field.
