Job search skills and career development are high priorities as Olivet Nazarene University prepares students for their chosen careers. On-campus career fairs continue to be an important tool for success.

Over a four-year period, Olivet’s Office of Career Services has helped to grow the on-campus recruiting opportunities for students. From one job fair during the 2014–2015 academic year to five job fairs for the 2017–2018 academic year, Olivet is facilitating important professional connections.

Employers continue to comment about how well prepared Olivet students are for the job search process. They are excited and motivated to attend and meet the students in person. In fact, some employers come to more than one career fair on campus each year.

Here’s the schedule for spring 2018.

ONU Internship & Job Fair, February 2018

For all Olivet students and Olivet alumni only. Representatives from more than 80 companies will be available to connect with in person. They will present opportunities for full-time and part-time jobs, internships, and summer jobs — all aimed at offering students real work experience. Students will also have the opportunity to practice their professional dress, networking and interview skills. Students may also have a professional headshot taken in the LinkedIn assistance area.

Nursing Career Fair, February 2018

For Olivet undergraduate and graduate nursing students only. This networking opportunity is specifically targeted for nursing students. More than 15 employers will be recruiting for full-time and part-time staff positions. Olivet’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies will provide information about advanced degree programs in nursing.

Education Career Fair, March 2018

For Olivet education majors only, especially student teachers. This event will bring to campus more than 15 different schools and districts, representing full-time and part-time teaching opportunities in the surrounding area and overseas.

Looking ahead to fall 2018, plans are already in the works for the annual Walker School of Engineering and McGraw School of Business career fairs.
