“What you’re sowing related to God’s kingdom will reap a harvest,” says Dr. Mark Holcomb ’81/D.D. ’18, Olivet Nazarene University chaplain. “What you’re doing for God’s kingdom is not and will not be wasted.”

Spiritual development for students, faculty and staff is an important part of the Olivet experience. Chaplain Holcomb takes leadership for providing many of the elements to make that possible. Each year, he invites top Christian speakers and preachers to present messages during chapel services. And each year, God challenges and inspires all who come to listen.

Chapel speakers scheduled for the fall 2018 chapels at Olivet are:
•    Dr. John C. Bowling, University president
•    Laurie Polich Short, author and associate pastor, Ocean Hills Covenant Church, Santa Barbara, California
•    J.K. Warrick (Fall Revival), general superintendent emeritus, Church of the Nazarene
•    Gabriel Salguero, pastor and founder of National Latino Evangelical Coalition
•    Dr. Douglas Perry, University vice president for financial affairs
•    Montele Crawford, senior pastor, Morning Star Baptist Church, Kankakee, Illinois
•    Steve Spears, endurance director and U.S. crosser, World Vision
•    JP Troglio ’09/’15 M.A., pastor, Oasis Church, Chicago
•    Wilfredo “Choco” DeJesús, senior pastor, New Life Covenant Church, Chicago,
•    John Ramstead, leadership coach, author and former U.S. fighter jet pilot
•    Dan Seaborn, evangelist and marriage expert
•    Casey Tygrett, author and spiritual director
•    Dr. Mark Quanstrom, dean of School of Theology and Christian Ministry

When the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel and the Crawford Auditorium were constructed and dedicated in 2010, the primary focus was on bringing the Olivet community together in one place for worship and growth. Twice each week, from August through May, chapel gatherings add significant meaning to campus life. In that setting, many have accepted Christ and committed or recommitted to serve Him.
