Andrea Vega of Olivet Tigers named NAIA Swimmer of the Month

This senior has notched NAIA “A” time standards in all of her individual and relay races.

Andrea Vega of the Olivet Nazarene University Tiger women’s swimming and diving team was named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) women’s swimmer/diver of the month for December 2018. She is a senior, majoring in child development, and has been a member of the team since her freshman year.

Andrea did not finish below first place in an individual race until the end of November since beginning 2018-2019 competition in October.

She has notched NAIA “A” time standards in all of her individual and relay races. She has also surpassed the Perry Center pool records at Olivet in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

Andrea is a six-time NAIA National Champion in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay, individual medley, 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay events.
