Marketing Management

Learn how to plan and implement marketing strategies and policies.   Students will explore the fundamental  principles  for moving products and services from businesses to consumers.  Study managerial accounting, retail merchandising, small business management and so much more.  This area of concentration prepares graduates for administrative careers within organizations like corporations, product manufacturers, and advertising agencies. 

Corporate Relations

Earning B.S. degree with a concentration in Corporate Relations will equip students with a set of activities involved in managing and orchestrating all internal and external communications aimed at creating favorable point of view among stakeholders on which the company depends. Learn about the processes companies use to develop and deliver their goods and services successfully.

Commercial Graphics

Pursue your talent and love for art and design by studying graphic advertising and packaging design with the Adobe Creative Cloud Software. Combine that learning with your business courses and gain the opportunity to apply your knowledge to campus community events and local corporations.

International Relations

Participate in the International Business Institute (IBI), a 10-week summer cooperative overseas program in international economics and business management. IBI is designed to give you a distinctive opportunity for a term of study that incorporates the international dimension of your field of interest in an experiential context overseas.  Your academic work is conducted in a variety of settings from the usual classroom to corporate headquarters, manufacturing plants, and the offices of governmental or international agencies.

Professional Competitions & Activities

The Marketing Club

  • A passionate group of students working under McGraw School of Business to support various companies within Kankakee County to aid in the marketing process based on each business' specific needs. This club offers students a chance to make personal and professional connections as well as gain further experience in the Marketing industry.

National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC)

  • The NSAC is the premier college advertising competition that provides more than 2,000 college students the real-world experience of creating a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate client. Students develop a marketing plan and pitch their work to advertising professionals at the district, semi-final and national levels.

American Advertising Federation Regional Competition

  • The professional competition is held in South Bend, IN in December and April of each year with over 100 schools competing to win the real-world client and sponsor, Ocean Spray, Inc.

Career Management to Internships

At Olivet's McGraw School of Business, Freshmen and Sophomore students attend specially designed seminars to advance their careers through resumé writing, developing interviewing skills, networking and managing their online presence.

All the Career Management activities are designed for students to discover their strengths to help them attain an internship their junior or senior year. A full-time Internship Coordinator works with each student to help attain an internship in their specific field to help in building their resume for their future career.
