JOSH RING has been a professor at Olivet Nazarene University in the School of Music since 2019. He loves working with students in the classroom and on the stage. He teaches music theory, aural skills, organ, composition, and piano, and he’s active as an accompanist for student performances. Dr. Ring is also the Associate for Music Ministry at the First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, where he serves with Director of Music Ministries and Olivet alumna Jane Holstein. Dr. Ring was chosen as a performer for the AGO Student Commissioning Project, where he collaborated with composer Joshua Malavé on a new composition for organ solo. In 2018 Dr. Ring premiered Boricua written by Malavé and performed it numerous times across the Midwest.

Born in upstate New York, Dr. Kenyon studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and Bowling Green State University before earning the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University. Before returning to the Midwest in 2014, he was a member of the music faculty at Point Loma Nazarene University more than 20 years and where he also served for many years as chair of the department of music. Paul Kenyon has recorded three CDs of solo piano music — “Garden Music,” “Chiaroscuro” and “Delight, Touch and Inspire” and performs frequently with a variety of chamber music and jazz ensembles. Recent performances have included concert appearances with violinist, Päivikki Nykter; string bassist and author, Barry Green; cellist, Barbara Kavanaugh; and the Catalina Trio. Currently, Dr. Kenyon serves as the curator of the Concerts at College Church series and appears frequently as a conference presenter and clinician.
