In October 2025, during Olivet Nazarene University’s Homecoming Weekend festivities, ONU Athletics celebrated the opening of the Bill Bahr Soccer Facility.
The previous fall, ONU Athletics announced major plans for the revamping of existing locker and meeting rooms. The completed new facility also includes public restrooms and a concession stand for spectators to utilize. Naming the facility in honor of 26-year women’s soccer coach veteran, Bill Bahr ’96/’05 MBA/’14 M.A., recognized the dedication and accomplishments of one of Olivet’s longest-serving athletics staff.
Beyond a legacy of providing leadership to the women’s soccer program since 1999, Coach Bahr’s winning legacy (including 346 coaching wins and notable NCCA championship appearances) epitomizes the ONU Athletics mission of “Winning Championships and Developing Champions.” His leadership was also recognized outside of Olivet’s sphere when Bahr was named the coach of the year in 2012 for both the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition to his work as a coach, Bahr has also served as an Olivet faculty member in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science, teaching sports law and athletic marketing. His commitment to education earned him Olivet’s Faculty Member of the Year Award, also in 2012.
This donor-funded project was made possible by generous support from the Olivet community, including significant gifts during annual fundraising events like Giving Tuesday and Olivet’s Day of Giving. If you’re interested in supporting future specific capital improvements to Olivet’s campus, please get in touch with Director of Athletic Advancement Mike Conway ’84.
