Rachel Guimond

Chair of General Studies


A licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Guimond became the chair of the Department of Social Work and Criminal Justice in 2015.

During her career, she has worked with the aging population, the chronically mentally ill and chemically dependent adolescents. At Olivet, she teaches human behavior in the social environment, research methods, social work practice and topics in disability.

Her academic interests lie in the areas of self-care for the social work professional and disability policies across the lifespan. She served on the Board of Directors for PLOWS Council on Aging.

She and her husband, Philip, have a daughter, Lucy, and a son, Harrison. They are active at Manteno Church of the Nazarene.
