Olivet’s Ward Field

Introducing the 2026 Olivet Christmas Ornament. Manufactured by the creators of the Official White House Christmas Ornament, this year’s piece features Ward Field.

For decades, Ward Field has been home to generations of Olivet student athletes. From celebratory victories and championships to cherished Homecoming festivities, students, faculty, alumni, and community members have created lasting memories. Dedicated in 1982, the nearly 90,000–square–foot field continues to stand as a reminder of the rich athletic tradition at Olivet.

The field’s namesake is alumnus C.W. “Butch” Ward. Throughout his 22 years of service to Olivet, Ward served in a variety of roles across the University’s athletic program. He was not only instrumental in starting Olivet’s intercollegiate athletics in 1966, but also served as Olivet’s first football coach in 1976, helping lay the foundation for the “Gold Standard” program that continues to thrive today.

Order the ornament today with a new $50 donation. You will receive a $35 giving receipt and your donation will go to The Olivet Fund. Please call the Alumni Office with any questions, 815-939-5258.
