“Olivet instilled in us a commitment to purpose and community, and staying in Kankakee County allowed us to carry that forward. We saw real potential here — in the people, the partnerships and the opportunity to build something meaningful. That decision has fueled both the growth of our businesses and a deep sense of connection to the place we’re proud to call home.”

Since their days as Olivet students, Joe and Michaela Mantarian have enjoyed a life together that has been full in the best way. Their choice to settle and start their family in Kankakee County was an intentional decision. Joe is the owner of his own business, enjoying a full photo and video client list, as well as partnering with organizations across healthcare, education, real estate, small businesses and global corporations. Michaela’s floral design work keeps her schedule packed with luxury weddings and private events for brands like Sweetgreen, Ulta and the Chicago Bulls.

Most of all, Joe and Michaela are loving life as parents to their daughter, Eloise. Living in Kankakee County is providing them with outdoor activities, new places to explore, and a welcoming, safe place to soak in all the little moments that make family life so special.

The Mantarian family is one of many Olivet alumni families who have chosen Kankakee County for their home. These families are contributing to the many ways that Olivet and Kankakee County are doing something good together.

Olivet is extending an invitation to alumni, family and friends to partner with the University in creating a “redeeming abundance” for a new generation of transformational leaders. Learn more about Olivet’s Strength and Hope Campaign and find opportunities to give at olivet.edu/giving
