Homecoming Chapel to Connect Community

Olivet community virtually gathers for a time of worship and celebration — Nov. 6

November 4, 2020 Alumni & Friends

Due to the restrictions Illinois for large group gatherings, the Olivet Nazarene University administrative team and the Office of Alumni Relations have made the decision to postpone annual Homecoming and Family Weekend events and class reunions for a year.

Typically, this time of year, the whole campus is bustling with activities. From the coronation of a Homecoming queen to the athletic events, from the social gatherings to the annual student pancake feed — there are fun events for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends.

The postponement of these events will allow the Office of Alumni Relations to provide the most robust experiences possible for all to enjoy. Homecoming and Family Weekend events have been rescheduled for Oct. 20-24, 2021.

The great news is that the University will still provide the annual Homecoming Chapel on Friday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. University President Dr. John Bowling will deliver prerecorded remarks and the service will feature special music selections from previous chapel services to set the tone for a morning full of worship. The chapel sermon shown is from the late Dr. Paul Cunningham ’60.

The Homecoming chapel service can be viewed at here.
