BOURBONNAIS, IL. – Olivet Nazarene University’s women’s cross country team took home the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday. Led by senior Heidi Heldt who claimed the individual title, the Tigers showcased a strong performance where they placed five runners inside the top 11 finishers.
Heldt clocked in at 21:51.89 to win by more than 20 seconds. Junior Isabella Wojciechowski was the next Tiger finisher, placing fourth overall with a time of 22:38.36, while fellow junior Hannah Haag finished fifth in 22:55.82. Sophomore Claire Carter added to the scoring effort with a seventh-place finish in 23:02.63, and sophomore Taygen Beyer finished off the scoring for Olivet with an 11th-place finish in 23:17.68.
With the win, the Tigers earn a spot at the NAIA Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, November 21.
