At the North Central College Pat Heenan Invite on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, he produced two more first-place finishes in the shot put (against 28 competitors) and the weight throw (against 17 competitors).

His 55 feet, 2 inch distance (16.81 meters) in the shot was an automatic qualifier to Nationals and the eighth-best throw in the NAIA this year. In the weight throw, his 58-2.5 heave (17.74 meters) is 12th best in the NAIA this winter.
