About the MLA Scholarship

The Ministerial Leadership Award has been created by Olivet Nazarene University to recognize a select group of students whose call of God on their lives to vocational ministry within the Church of Jesus Christ has been affirmed by the Church. These highly selective awards are offered to a limited number of students each year based on specific criteria.

Scholarships will be awarded on an individual basis. Recipients will receive $1,500 in their first year. For future years, scholarship renewal is based on students remaining in good academic standing with Olivet’s registrar and dean’s offices, and their consistent involvement in local church ministry. Renewed second year recipients will receive $2,000; renewed third year recipients will receive $2,500, and renewed fourth year recipients will receive $3,000. Students who receive the MLA Scholarship for each of their four years of full-time enrollment will be awarded a total of $9,000. MLA recipients are eligible for other academic awards and any applicable financial aid. An on-campus interview with a faculty member of the School of Theology and Christian Ministry may be required.
