The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in management information systems is a program designed for the student interested in the development, application and management of an organization’s technological infrastructure.

Students studying management information systems will become experts in analyzing, processing, collecting and storing information.

Olivet’s in-depth program will prepare students to enter this challenging field far ahead of their peers. Students will design and manage the technical tools for effective communication; conduct research on customers, clients, marketing, and productivity; build software to serve specialized needs; create multifaceted website designs; and much more!

Making Connections

Scholar Week Presentation

The scholarship of teaching is demonstrated in the presentation by explaining the experiential learning exercise used by Professor Thomas. This classroom activity challenges students to learn the basic processes of management in a simulation of commerce. Teams compete to maximize profit while recording sales, inventory, cash flow, expenses and profit margin.

CSL Behring

Olivet students involved in the studies of Managerial Information Systems are given the opportunity to tour Bourbonnais’ CSL Behring plant and hear from guest speaker Dan Rodgers (ERP II). Through this experience, students can learn the design, implementation, and use of computer-based information systems within a business organization.
