Built in 1967 and completely renovated in 2008, this is one of only three planetaria in Illinois with digital projection capabilities. Dome size ranks fourth in the state for physical size, and the new projector system ranks as one of the top in the state in digital capabilities. This 50-seat planetarium hosts sky shows; classes for the study of astronomy; and community, school and other groups for private tours and shows.
