Dr. Blanchette is director of ONU’s Center for Faith and Family. He teaches in the Christian Education field at the undergraduate and graduate levels, specializing in children and family ministry.

Ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1993, he served as a children's pastor for 18 years prior to teaching at ONU. Currently, he serves as part-time Children and Family Pastor at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene. He is also a member of the Society for Professors of Christian Education.

He and his wife, Teri, have two daughters, Sarah and Emily, and three grandchildren, Brenden, Cooper and Zoey. His hobbies include cooking, gardening and most any sport.
