As Benner Library’s Systems Librarian, Professor Olney oversees all aspects of Olivet’s library management system. Among other things, this involves ensuring the accuracy of resource and user records, developing workflows for maximum efficiency and providing support to library staff by way of training and troubleshooting. Additionally, he also manages the Holiness Collection, handling material selection, processing, policy development and community engagement while working closely with the University Archives.

He began his library work as a college student in 2004. He became a full-time staff member at Olivet in 2009 and joined the faculty in 2012. He is also serves as Olivet’s Director of Emergency Management, a part-time staff role he began in January of 2020.

His love of sports led him into sports broadcasting for Olivet, providing play-by-play for Tiger women’s volleyball (2009-2014) and Tiger baseball (2012-2019). Raised in the Pacific Northwest, he remains an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners (MLB), Seattle Seahawks (NFL), and the University of Oregon Ducks.

He and his wife, Amber, have three children, Autumn, Kamden and Kolton.
