Jon Seals ’03 is an artist, educator and curator. He studied the intersections of religion and visual culture at Yale Divinity School and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and earned an M.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design.
As Department Chair, Galleries Director and Professor of Art and Digital Media at Olivet Nazarene University, he oversees academic programs, directs campus exhibition spaces and teaches studio art courses. Over the past decade, he has curated exhibitions in collaboration with Yale’s Institute of Sacred Music, featuring contemporary artists whose work engages spirituality, environmental issues and social justice. He also serves as Art Editor for The ISM Review.
His artwork, essays and reviews have been published and exhibited nationally. Through his creative practice, he explores the relationships among identity, environment, faith and narrative.
