School of Nursing

Professor Rose is an Associate Professor of Nursing and licensed Registered Professional Nurse with over 2 decades of nursing. In her professional nursing career, Professor Rose has worked in mental health, substance abuse, case management, and long-term care nursing.

Since joining Olivet’s faculty in 2008, she serves as the faculty advisor for the Nursing Students Association and teaches courses in Olivet’s School of Nursing (undergraduate) and School of Graduate and Continuing Studies (RN – BSN).

Her professional affiliations include membership in Kappa Sigma and Lambda Lambda Chapters, Sigma Theta Tau Inc. (Nursing Honor Society), American Psychiatric Nursing Association, and Mu Zeta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. In 2014, she received the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Board of Directors 2014 Student Scholar. In 2020, she received the Excellence Award by the Multiethnic Student Services at Olivet and Kankakee Mayor Wells-Armstrong’s Phenomenal Woman Award.

Professor Rose and her family are actively involved at Second Baptist Church, Kankakee, Illinois, where she is a Parish Nurse and Sunday School Superintendent. During her free time, she enjoys shopping and traveling.

She and her husband Hampton have 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
