Dr. Enfield joined Olivet’s School of Nursing’s (SON) faculty in 2014. She directs the RN to BSN program, designed for students who already have an associate’s degree in nursing and a nursing license who want to complete their bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree. In her role as the Director of Assessment, she collects data from surveys, NCLEX reports, certification exam reports and other assessment data to provide evidence for the SON’s accrediting body, CCNE and for other nursing-focused reports.
Before joining Olivet’s faculty, she worked as a certified school nurse for more than 12 years in the Bourbonnais (Illinois) Elementary School District. She was also an adjunct professor and a clinical site host for Olivet’s nursing students, providing them with the opportunity to observe school nursing firsthand. Dr. Enfield holds a Professional Educator License with a focus on School Nursing in Illinois.
Prior to her school nurse career, Dr. Enfield was the nurse manager in a nephrology physicians practice.She started her nursing career at Kankakee’s Riverside Medical Center which spanned eight years as an RN. She began on the medical-oncology and medical-surgical floors, advancing to the charge nurse position. She assisted with numerous on-the-floor procedures, including bone marrow biopsies, central line insertions and chest tube insertions.
She is a member of the Illinois Association of School Nursing, the National Association of School Nursing, Nurses Christian Fellowship and Kappa Sigma, Olivet’s Nursing Honor Society.
Dr. Enfield and her husband have three adult children and one granddaughter. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, playing games and spending time with her family and cooking (especially trying new recipes). She is also a member of the Worship and Creative Arts team at her local church.
