Parry Kietzman, Ph.D.

Dr. Kietzman has been on the faculty at Olivet since 2024. She received a B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of California at Riverside. She has expertise in honey bee communication, group decision making and ecology, and also has experience in native pollinator conservation research. At Olivet, Dr. Kietzman teaches courses on Invertebrate Zoology, Animal Behavior, Conservation Biology and Tropical/Arctic Field Ecology in Costa Rica/Iceland, in addition to co-directing ONU’s Swanberg Biological Sanctuary.

Dr. Kietzman and her husband, Ben, live in Bourbonnais with their two children, Hal and Flora. In her free time, she enjoys riding her horse, hiking, camping and playing the violin and bagpipes!
