MOVE-IN WEEKEND
The official move-in day for new residential students is Saturday, August 22, from 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Move-in continues on Sunday, August 23, noon to 4:00 p.m. During move-in hours, students and their families can pause for a meal in Luddy (the campus dining hall), take a coffee break in Starbucks and visit the Spirit Store — all of which are located in Ludwig Center. At 2:00 p.m., head to Chalfant Hall for an official Welcome to Olivet program.
Returning residential students may begin moving in on Saturday, August 22, between 2:00–8:00 p.m. All students are encouraged to visit the Campus Partner Fair in the Perry Center between 11:00 a.m. –2:00 p.m. or 3:00–5:00 p.m. That evening at 7:00 p.m., join the crowds at Snowbarger Field for the men’s soccer home opener.
The formal activities kick off on Sunday, August 23, with the JumpStart New Student Conference (bolded words denote required programming). Students and their families will gather in Chalfant Hall on Sunday morning for a worship service at 10:30 a.m. In the afternoon, all first-year students will gather for Keynote Session 1 in Chalfant Hall at 3:30 p.m.; followed by residence hall floor gatherings across campus and dinner with their JumpStart Group and student mentors. The day will cap off with a Party at Rec City at 6:30 p.m.

Programming continues throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday to help freshman and transfer students orient themselves to life at Olivet including keynote sessions; a group photo of all new students at 10:00 a.m. at Ward Field; yearbook photo time slots; and a campus passport activity to help students get familiarized with important offices and venues around the University.
On Monday evening, the Office of Spiritual Life will host a Worship Night & Bonfire at the Warming House for all new students. The entire campus is invited to a Block Party on Tuesday, August 25 to celebrate the start of the semester together.
START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

Classes for undergraduate students commence on Wednesday, August 26. That morning, the entire campus community will gather in Centennial Chapel for corporate worship and an inspirational message from University Chaplain Ryan Green. On Thursday morning, University President Gregg Chenoweth Ph.D. will bring the chapel message.
The first two weeks on campus include nonstop activities and events that all students are encouraged to participate in. The annual Ollies Follies class competition — a three-part event consisting of athletic contests (August 26), wacky games (August 28) and a variety show (September 6) — is a time-honored tradition in which students connect with classmates.

These are great days at Olivet! Students: we hope you get involved, stay involved and experience Olivet to the fullest. Friends and family: make plans now to visit campus throughout the year.
