Mark Frisius, Ph.D.

Dr. Frisius serves as the Chair for the School of Theology and Christian Ministry. An expert in the development of Latin theology, he is particularly interested in the understanding of martyrdom in earliest Christianity. He teaches courses that on the history and theology of Christianity.

His book, Tertullian’s Use of the Pastoral Epistles, Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, and Jude, was published by Peter Lang Press in 2010.

Before coming to Olivet, he was an adjunct professor at Marymount University and at The Catholic University of America.

Dr. Frisius is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the North American Patristic Society.

He and his wife, Ellen, have two sons, Eli and Caleb. They enjoy being outside, especially on nice days with their dog. They also have two cats and 7 chickens. A huge sports fan, he cheers for the Chicago Bears and the Portland Trail Blazers.
