Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

Olivet Nazarene University is offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to Olivet students and the surrounding community of Kankakee. 

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a free IRS-sponsored tax filing assistance program available to qualified individuals for the 2022 tax season. ONU is an IRS-qualified site where certified accounting students help file taxes. The program is for individuals with an income of $60,000 or less in 2022 and people who have disabilities or limited English speaking skills.

VITA meets every Tuesday in February and March from 4:30-6:30 p.m in Weber room 307.

The program is hosted by Olivet’s McGraw School of Business.

  1. Helping qualifying individuals file their income taxes for free.
  2. Removing the anxiety from filing tax returns by providing step-by-step assistance.
  3. Providing weekly meeting times for consistent filing help.

What To Bring:
  • Tax Information such as Forms W-2, 1099, 1098, 1095.
  • Picture ID (such as valid driver's license) for you and your spouse.
  • Social security cards or ITIN letters for all persons on your tax returns.
    • (Copies or photos of information accepted)

• Prior year federal and state tax returns if available.
