After graduating with an accounting degree in 1992, Tricia was obtained her CPA certification in 1994. She worked in the public accounting industry for over 20 years, specializing in individual and corporate tax preparation, as well as Auditing of Government for Not for Profit entities. In 2017 she earned her master’s degree in accounting.

Professor Mills also co-owned and operated a water well drilling family business with her husband, Wayne, for over 20 years. This provided a unique perspective from both sides: business ownership and accounting industry. 

Living locally for their entire lives, Tricia and her husband, of over 30 years, have raised three sons: Nigel, Duncan and Ethan. She loves spending time with family and friends, rehab projects and attending her sons’ sporting events. She is also an avid Chicago sports fan: mostly Cubs and Bears!
