Social Work and Criminal Justice

Professor Edwards joined Olivet’s full-time faculty in 2022.  He teaches classes on social welfare policy/programs and human behavior in the social environment.  He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an additional master’s degree in education.  

Professor Edwards has both a volunteer and professional background working with survivors of abuse as well as a great deal of professional clinical experience and crisis intervention experience over the course of 16 years as a school social worker.  He has worked extensively with students aged pre-K – 12th grade in both special education and general education environments and in so doing, has been afforded many opportunities to work closely with hospitals, social service agencies, law enforcement, and other community supports both large and small.  

He is an active member of his church and enjoys church service as well as spending time with family, fishing, watching movies, and playing games. He wants it known that teaching at Olivet is a tremendous blessing and represents for him a reminder of God’s amazing goodness, faithfulness, and provision.
