Alex Ewalt of Olivet Tiger volleyball honored by NAIA

First Olivet Tiger volleyball player ever to achieve this honor.

Alex Ewalt of Olivet Nazarene University Tiger volleyball has been named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week based on her performance from Sept. 24–30, 2018.

She was chosen from a field of 20 nominees. The senior chemistry education major is from Danvers, Illinois. She is the first Tiger volleyball player ever to achieve this honor.

Alex was an All-Tournament selection at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational on Sept. 28–29, as she helped her team to a 4-0 weekend. She had 119 digs and 7.44 digs/set with a 0.968 reception percentage. She added nine service aces and a service percentage of 0.913.
