L.A. Film Studies Center

Announcing the return of LAFSC for Spring 2023

The L.A. Film Studies Center (LAFSC) is officially relaunching on the ground, in Los Angeles for the spring of 2023! Olivet Nazarene University will again be administrating and partnering with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

Faculty and staff for LAFSC are industry professionals returning from previous semesters as faculty, staff or alumni. Similar to the spring 2022 semester, the courses will parallel those that were offered at LAFSC prior to the pandemic with some minor updates for relevance to changing practices and trends in the industry in order to accommodate sending institutions who have built LAFSC into their degree tracks.

How to Apply

Interested students can begin their application by clicking on the link below. Applications are accepted on a "rolling" basis until November 1, 2022. Typically, students will be notified of their acceptance within 2-3 weeks of submission.

See You in LA!

The spring 2023 semester of LAFSC will take place on the ground in Los Angeles from Monday, January 9, through Friday, April 28. Instructional fees are $12,900 and housing fees are $4,900 (food is not included) for a total of $17,800. Keep in mind the total program costs billed to you through your school may differ, depending on your campus' policies. Each institution's own financial aid policies will uniquely apply to program costs at the institution's discretion. Students will also need to adhere to their home institutions policies and procedures regarding off-campus study.

The program will secure short-term leases for 2BR/2BA apartments for students at Park La Brea, located at 6200 W 3rd St., Los Angeles, CA 90036. LAFSC is currently undergoing a search for new learning facilities for spring 2023, but the current, best indication is that the facility will be similar in terms of amenities and proximity to Park La Brea as the former space. This information will be confirmed soon.
