Advice for new students: My biggest piece of advice for new students is to not be afraid to meet new people! Everyone going into their first year in college is experiencing new beginnings. Try to get out of your comfort zone to meet different people. My biggest regret freshman year was probably not branching out more.
What makes Olivet different from other universities: This one is easy for me! The people. As soon as I stepped foot on campus I felt like this was going to be a place that I could call home. From the students to the faculty, everyone here is passionate about creating a community/culture that is welcoming to all. People here truly care about you as more than just a student; they want you to succeed in all areas of your life.
Favorite ONU professor: Dr. Jay Martinson! He used to be the department chair for the Communication department and has recently changed roles. I only had him for one class (during my master's program), but he was so great in that short time. He spent so much extra time with all of the students in our class to make sure we all understood the materials. I'm also a little biased because he and his wife hosted the team that I coach at his house during Christmas 2 years ago. It was such a fun night eating a great meal and watching him and his wife play Just Dance.
Favorite college trip: As a coach, I have been fortunate enough to take some pretty cool trips during my time at ONU. My favorite was when we went to LA and played 2 really good teams. We walked down Hollywood Boulevard, went to the beach, and went to a LA Clippers game. It was such a fun trip.
Favorite place to eat in town: I'm a big pizza guy and my favorite place in town is Rosati's.
Hobbies: I love to golf in the summertime! Other than that, I love to hike, watch sports and watch movies. I'm also a big fan of board games, my favorite being Settlers of Catan.
Favorite Bible verse: Philippians 4:13 which says, "For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
