Brooke has taught for Olivet since 2010. Starting out in the Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) program. Brooke taught the Adult Health III course each semester and served as the Level IV Coordinator. She then moved to the Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing (ABSN) track where she was the Level IV Coordinator and Lead Level Coordinator. Brooke has served as chair of the following committees: Handbook, Admission, Progression, Retention, and Pinning.

Much of Brooke’s efforts in the ABSN track were focused on streamlining processes and aligning curriculum in the different levels to allow students to make connects more easily in order to improve the delivery of a quality education.

Currently, Brooke is the Assistant MSN Program Director for the Education and Transformational Leadership tracks where her focus lies entirely on students, faculty, and curriculum, while teaching one class each start date. Brooke is currently a member of Kappa Sigma, Olivet’s chapter of Sigma Theta Tau and has served in multiple leadership capacities on the Board of Directors, including president, president elect, and leadership succession committee member.

Prior to her time at Olivet, Brooke worked as an Emergency Room nurse in a level II trauma center. She also has previous traveling experience in the Chicago land area in various units such as an ED observation unit, PACU, and ICU. Brooke also spent some time managing an allergy clinic for a local ENT physician. When completing her master’s degree in nursing, a colleague who was also her preceptor, enticed her to consider nursing education.

After completion of her MSN, Brooke started teaching adjunct for Olivet and then came aboard full time soon after. Brooke fell in love with higher education. Brooke has a passion for curriculum development, providing realistic and applicable educational experiences for real-world learning with a Biblical lens. Brooke enjoys the opportunity to pray with students and to see how God is working in their lives.

Brooke is married to her college sweetheart and are blessed with five sons. When Brooke is not at work, she is spending time with her family, attending sporting events for her children, playing church softball, working outdoors, taking care of their chickens and rehabbing their home.
