Joining Olivet's nursing faculty in 2010, Professor Piper is the Level IV Coordinator for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She teaches the Adult Health III course and oversees all level IV courses, including the capstone component.
She also has a wealth of practical experience in the hospital setting. Her six years of nursing practice have allowed her to work extensively in the intensive care unit, and emergency room; and as a traveling nurse/agency nurse in ICU/telemetry, post-anesthesia care unit and emergency department observation unit. She has earned certifications for basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and as an emergency communications registered nurse.
Professor Piper is a member Sigma Theta Tau and was elected president of the Kappa Sigma chapter, serving from 2014 to 2016.
She is married to Brad, who is a 2005 ONU grad and former Tiger basketball player. He teaches third grade at JeNeir Elementary School in Momence, Illinois, and coaches both high school golf and eighth grade boys basketball there. They are the parents of five children: Ethan, Ty, Lucas, Liam and Tripp.
An outdoor sports enthusiast, Professor Piper loves all water sports: boating, swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding and fishing. You might also find her hunting, hiking, playing volleyball, rollerblading, shopping or snowboarding.
