Professor Knisley joined Olivet's full-time faculty as an associate professor in 2014 after three years as an adjunct professor. He teaches courses in accounting, auditing and tax.
His career experience includes 17 years as an accounting and finance professional in three different industries: electric and gas, public accounting and health care. He came to Olivet from his position as a financial analyst for Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois. Professionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
As an educator, he believes that the integration of faith and learning is an absolute essential requirement for a Christian education. That integration involves more than the application of biblical principles in a person's chosen career. It is the recognition that God gives each person skills and talents for the express purposes of honoring and glorifying Him.
Professor Knisley and his wife, Valerie, have served as church youth group leaders, and have been actively involved in other areas of ministry and church administration. In the community, he is a member of the school board and has served on several nonprofit boards.
In his leisure time, he is an avid cyclist and photographer. Together with their children, Cadence and Gavin, he and his wife enjoy family outdoor activities — especially bike rides and nature walks.
