Professor Tabaka joined Olivet's full-time faculty in the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies in 2017. She serves as director of the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program.
In her career as a nursing professor before coming to Olivet, Professor Tabaka has taught courses in pharmacology, mental health, pediatrics and obstetrics, as well as served as coordinator for a nursing program. She has also worked as a nurse in pediatrics, obstetrics, home health and school nursing, as well as on a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
She is a member of NLN (National League of Nurses), ANA (American Nurses Association), AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), and INACSL (International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning).
Professor Tabaka and her husband, Russ, married in 1995. They are the parents of six children and grandparents to six grandchildren. Following her Scandinavian heritage, she enjoys painting with oils in the traditional Norwegian Rosemaling style.
