The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a concentration in hospitality or minor in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) is designed for the student desiring a broad knowledge of the field of FACS. Students who complete the full degree are required to minor in business.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Hospitality concentration allows students to become experts in event planning and food service. Students study nutrition, consumer economics, sociology of the family, professionalism, and more.
Internship Requirement
A five-hour internship is required for this program. Olivet students have completed internships with a variety of local and national companies, including: Sunrise Health Foods, Chic Weddings Inc., Comfort Inn, University of Illinois Extension Service, Sodexo Food Service, Spot Light Meetings and Events, Inc. and more. Internships are introductory-level positions, often paid, and have resulted in full-time job offers. For more information, click here.
