SPEAKERS

Denise Anderson, Ph.D., LSW
Rachel Guimond, DSW, LCSW

Cultural competence plays a key role in work with clients, but often the role of wealth and poverty are lost in the discussion of other elements of diversity. Dr. Guimond will explore the role and impact of socio-economic status within the United States, drawing from current research and experience. Dr. Anderson will address the issue as it applies to work with those from other cultures. Through the use of group work and case studies, attendees will explore how to use the strengths of their own cultures to maximize respect and understanding for clients of all levels of wealth.
