Edie Romer

Favorite campus tradition: My all-time favorite campus event is the Silent Disco! You would most likely find me getting trampled in the mosh pit, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! Dance with your friends and sing your heart out.

Best Olivet memory: I got to participate in my senior year Ollies Follies variety show and had a quick "star moment" doing a back flip with a friend. Dancing up on the stage brought me so much joy and took me back to my days as a dancer! It was so fun being able to perform with my peers.

Favorite Class at Olivet: My favorite classes at ONU were Social Psychology (Dr. Kristian Veit) and Counseling Processes & Techniques (Dr. Cynthia Taylor). They both challenged me to understand the human mind on a deeper level while also learning how to effectively communicate with and listen to others professionally.

Favorite place to eat in town: I went to Cozumel frequently! I am always down for Mexican food and often take advantage of the free chips & salsa refills.

Favorite Thing to do in Bourbonnais: I always recommend going for long walks along the Kankakee River trails, especially in the fall season. Walking with friends or going alone and dwelling in God's creation never fails to fulfill me.

Hobbies: I love to dance and I enjoy staying active at the gym; however, nothing brings me more contentment than being on the water (lake or beach) and soaking up the sun with country music on full blast!

Advice for new students: As cheesy as it is, get plugged in! Take advantage of every event and activity that happens on campus- especially the Ollies Follies kick-offs. You'll make fun connections with others and develop memories that will stick with you for a lifetime!

Favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You."
