Favorite class at Olivet: Foundations of Youth Ministry
Best Olivet memory: I loved participating on our class competitions at the beginning of the year called Ollies Follies.
Favorite ONU prof: Teresa Garner was my favorite professor as a student because of her incredible passion for youth ministry and her wealth of knowledge on what it means to be a pastor.
What makes Olivet different from other universities: Olivet’s Christian emphasis, intimate classroom environments, and overall student community make it a place that easily has become home for me and so many other students. The sense of belonging gives students the opportunity to not only get an incredible academic education, but you also learn how to be a better person.
Hobbies: I enjoy gardening, woodworking, board games, and time with my friends
Favorite extracurricular activity as a student: I loved participating in intramurals as a student.
Favorite college trip: During Spring break my junior year, 10 friends and I road tripped to Orlando, FL, rented a house near Disney, and spent our break traveling around Florida.
Favorite place to eat in town: I absolutely love Monicals pizza
Favorite campus tradition: I am always looking forward to Ollies Follies each summer, as the student body starts the year off by coming together in competiting in some incredibly fun and memorable events the first few weeks of school.
Favorite thing to do in Bourbonnais/Chicago: I spent a lot of my time on campus either hanging out with friends, playing sports or attending events on campus, but I love the fact that places like Chicago are so accessible if I want to have a weekend in the city.
Advice for new students: Get involved early into your college career, there is some many great opportunities for you to be a part of as a student, but you have to take initiative and get involved in the Olivet community.
Favorite Bible verse: Psalm 23
