Professor Thomas began his full-time faculty position at Olivet in 2011. Being a professor at his alma mater is a dream come true for him. He has a passion for teaching and learning and is known to his students at "Prof T".
His 25-year career in information technology has included working with Fortune 500 companies, school districts and ONU. He started at ONU in 2002 as network manager in the Department of Information Technology. Since 2007, he has served as the director of financial assistance for new students and has been a member of the Admissions Leadership Team. In 2011, Dr. John C. Bowling appointed him as chair of the "Project Promise" presidential task force for recommending scholarship/pricing strategies for the financial sustainability of the University.
Professor Thomas coordinates the Management Information Systems program and leads the Certiport Authorized Testing Center at ONU. His research interests include faith integration, sustained competitive advantage, professional certifications and management theory/application.
He is an active citizen in the community with a passion for volunteerism. Thomas is a retired Bourbonnais Auxiliary police officer and was recently appointed by the mayor as a police commissioner.
He and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters, Chaney and Cassie. In his leisure time, he enjoys archery, outdoor shooting sports, hunting, fishing, and life with two cats and a dog.
