Amy MacCrindle, Ed.D began her career teaching Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies in a co-taught English learners (EL) classroom, and as a Literacy Coach. She transitioned to administration as an assistant principal at a middle school, and elementary principal. She has had experiences as a PK-12 Director of Literacy and is now a PK-12 Director of Curriculum. Amy has always known that she wanted to be a teacher, and could even be caught teaching her stuffed animals important lessons in her “classroom”. Once she entered her first official classroom, she found that her love for teaching came from seeing students with those light bulb moments. As an administrator, she stays connected to teaching through online courses because she loves to see those light bulb moments in educators as they see how they can make an impact on students in return.

Amy has been a member of the Olivet Online faculty for two and a half years and teaches courses in Literacy and the ESL program. Being able to connect her passion for her faith and student learning is something that helps her grow in her own faith and live out her calling. She enjoys writing for educational journals, is a part of the ASCD Emerging Leader class of 2016, and is active on Twitter @Amy_MacCrindle. Amy is a wife to a fellow educator (HS Math Teacher) and mother to two boys. She values her faith and family and puts them above everything else.
