The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting is a program designed for the student pursuing a career in public, corporate, or governmental accounting.
Accountants know the ins and outs of income taxation, auditing, business law, economics, cost accounting, budgeting and more. With strong skills in mathematics and business savvy, they are good stewards of their resources.
Students can focus on one or more of the following:
Public Accounting (Certified Public Accountant, C.P.A.); Corporate Accounting (Certified Managerial Accountant, C.M.A.); Government Accounting (Certified Fraud Examiner, C.F.E.); General Staff Accounting (Small Corporation - Quick Books Certification); General Staff Accountant (Large Corporation - Statutory Accounting Principles, S.A.P.)
At Olivet, accounting majors have a variety of opportunities to interact with local business leaders, meet and learn from nationally known business experts, take corporate field trips, and teach students in area schools about financial concepts. Here, accounting students can develop their professional portfolios, build their resumes through internships, and take the lead in developing and implementing projects through the University’s Enactus chapter.
