The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting is a program designed for the student pursuing a career in public, corporate, or governmental accounting.

Accounting students receive hands-on experience in taxation, auditing, mergers & acquisitions, cost accounting, budget forecasting and more. This program is taught by CPAs, Attorneys, Ph.D.s - all academic and professional practitioners.

Degree Requirements

The accounting curriculum has been designed and is taught by professionals with a proven record of expertise as veteran CPAs, attorneys, insurance and computer software practitioners. Students will learn from national class material with an emphasis on real world application. 

Built within the Accounting courses are the opportunities to earn professional certifications. This is the "value-added" reason to attend Olivet's McGraw School of Business.

Professional Competitions & Activities

Olivet's Accounting Club connects accounting students with regional and national accounting professionals from accounting firms and corporate leadership. Club leadership recruits speakers and promote job fairs so students secure internships to propel them to full time positions. 

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) challenges accounting students to apply their faith through volunteering time and intelligence to help less fortunate and economically challenged in the community. 

In 2018, VITA completed over 200 tax returns and helped the underemployed receive over $130,000 in tax refunds they might not otherwise receive.

Career Management to Internships

At Olivet's McGraw School of Business, freshman and sophomore students attend specially designed seminars to advance their careers through resume writing, developing, interviewing skills, networking, and managing their online presence. 

All of the Career Management activities are designed for students to discover their strengths to help them attain an internship their junior and senior year. A full-time Internship Coordinator works with each student to help attain an internship in their specific field to help in building their resume for their future career.
