The Department of Information Technology exists to provide the best service and technology to Olivet Nazarene University to both foster and further the University’s educational goals in support of faculty, staff, and students.
Students have access to discounted technical support through PC repair, free Microsoft Office license agreements and discounted PC’s through Dell. Additionally, to keep up with the demands of students, the department continually looks for ways to improve the campus. Recent updates include:
Wireless campus: Olivet is one of the few schools in the nation to offer campus-wide access to its wireless network, ONUnet. The service is free to students, faculty and staff members, enabling them compute from anywhere on campus.
Network access locations: Olivet offers more than 400 network outlets across campus, including two in every dorm room.
Blackboard classroom manager: Used by students daily, this online resource allows teachers to post grades, assignments, quizzes and announcements that students can check at any time.
SMART classrooms: Olivet students have access to numerous SMART classrooms in various buildings on campus. SMART (Shared Multimedia Access to Resources for Teaching) classrooms are equipped with the latest in teaching technology, including audio/visual equipment, internet access, and interactive projection screens.
