Marching Band/Athletic Bands

During fall semester, the Tiger Marching Band performs at home football games, select away games, parade, and marching exhibitions. The corps-style band performs a wide variety of music, from popular music to movie themes. Both ensembles are under the direction of Mr. Ryan Schultz.
Q: When are auditions?
A: Auditions for marching band are held the spring semester the year before. Students who wish to join for the Concert Band season only, may join in November or at the beginning of the spring semester. Students who join Marching Band are expected to remain in Concert Band through the end of the spring semester. Students are not required to re-audition each year.
Q: What are the audition requirements?
A: The auditions requirements are as follows:
1. A prepared solo.
2. Sight reading.
Q: Are there fees associated with joining the ensemble?
A: As with all ensembles, the band has a $35 fee. Also, for the marching band, students are required to have black shoes (can be ordered for $25), black gloves ($3) and a band T-shirt ($7). If students have shoes and black gloves from high school band that are in good shape (must be approved by director), they can use those.
