    • Home of the magnificent Ruffatti pipe organ housed in the 3,059-seat Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel
    • Larsen Fine Arts Center is home to the 540-seat Kresge Auditorium, classrooms, music laboratories and rehearsal rooms
    • Clavinova piano lab for beginning piano students
    • 16-station PC and Mac MIDI computer lab to help students compose, arrange and transcribe music
    • Over 175-member marching band
    • Traditional, jazz, gospel, and show choir opportunities
    • Fully staged musical/opera every spring
    • Private lessons on all instruments — including harp
    • Two orchestras comprised of all undergraduate students
    • Ensembles open to majors and non-majors alike

    Mission Statement

    The Department of Music exists to cultivate the musical skills of student scholars as an act of personal commitment to Christ, and to encourage a life of service to others. The educational thrust of the Department of Music is threefold: it seeks to complement a broad liberal arts education, to provide the intensive professional training that aspiring musicians need, and to meet the musical needs of the University, community, and Olivet’s educational region.
