Rob began serving the students of Olivet in 2004. Having experience in residential life and admissions,
Rob joined the Olivet Counseling and Health Services Department in 2011. Rob has worked with adolescent and adult
populations, having served in multiple contexts, including community mental
health, group private practice and the college setting.
Having earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling,
Rob is currently pursuing the Doctor of Psychology degree in clinical psychology
at Wheaton College. Rob is also a
licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois. He has experience working with individuals,
couples, families and groups. In
addition to providing individual therapy, Rob facilitates a men’s issues group
once per semester.
Rob is particularly interested in the ways that important
relationships influence an individual’s current well-being. Therapy progresses with the understanding
that often problems are multi-faceted, including biological, psychological,
social and spiritual elements. After
building a quality therapy relationship, individuals are empowered to make
changes in their lives that lead to healthy functioning.
When Rob is not working or studying, he delights in spending
time with his wife, Kelly, and playing with his three small children. Rob also enjoys reading about theology and
philosophy, listening to a variety of music, spending time outdoors, and going
on adventures with his family.
