Admission to Master of Arts, Philosophy of History or Political Theory — SGCS
In addition to the General Admissions Requirements, the applicant must:
- Provide proof of Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Submit official transcripts for all relevant undergraduate courses.
- Have an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or better (4.0 scale). Probationary admission may be granted to applicants with lower grade point averages on a case by case basis, as explained elsewhere in this section.
- Submit an original essay of not more than 1000 words explaining the rationale for pursuing an graduate degree. In lieu of this essay an applicant may submit part or all of an academic paper previously submitted for credit in an upper division course in college in the past three years, or all or part of a substantial report prepared for an employer in the past two years.
- Submit two confidential recommendations from two persons in a position to be familiar with the student's abilities; one should be from a college professor; the other may be from a professor or a supervisor.
