Placement of Teacher Candidates

The University maintains a Career Center to assist graduates in securing positions in which they are interested and for which they are qualified. Teacher candidates register with the office for placement service in the senior year as directed by the office.

The Career Center receives and files notices of teaching position vacancies and makes this information available to students, at the student's request supplies copies of his or her credential folder to prospective employers, arranges interviews on campus between students and school officials, counsels candidates with respect to teaching opportunities in areas for which the office has no current listings, and maintains the student's credential file after he or she graduates. The placement service of the University is free to the graduating senior and registered alumni. The student should register with this office at the indicated time even though he or she may have secured a position for teaching prior to registering.
