Best Olivet memory as a student:
I have a lot of great memories at Olivet, but the one that stands out the most is Paint Wars. Five-hundred Olivet students get together with their goggles, Paint Wars T-shirts, and tube socks dipped in paint and play ultimate capture the flag every year. Everyone was covered from head to toe in blue, yellow, green, and red paint. I left with a great keepsake T-shirt and an even greater memory.
What makes Olivet different from other schools:
The aspect that makes Olivet so unique is the community. There is simply nothing like it. It’s a perfect size, tight-knit community. Whether it’s going to pizza with one of your professors Friday night, having a root beer float party with your residence hall floor, or gathering as a whole University for chapel every week, there are countless ways our community mirrors the aspects of a big family.
Favorite Bible Verse:
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity to do good, because these are sinful times. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 15: 15-17
Advice for new ONU students:
Try to fill your niche and get involved. There are endless possibilities for you to get plugged in on campus. I like to think of Olivet as a puzzle, and when our seniors graduate we have some missing pieces. So try to get involved and put your piece in to the Olivet Puzzle!
