General Studies

  • We want your journey at Olivet to take you all the way to graduation day. That’s why we have programs in place to support you along the way.

  • As a freshman or transfer student, your first assignment is to complete the freshman seminar, Connections.

    The Department of General Studies provides a variety of services to support your academic success:

    • Courses are provided for students needing to develop their writing, math, and/or learning skills.
    • The Learning Development Center (LDC) provides academic support services including learning labs.
    • Supplemental course instruction is offered for several general education courses.
    • A peer tutoring program assists students who are struggling academically.
    • Students with physical and/or learning disabilities may request reasonable accommodations such as tutors, note takers, and extended time on exams.
