Reading Endorsement Certificate Program (Type 10)
Dr. William Summers, Director

Olivet Nazarene University‘s fully accredited Education programs are designed to equip educators with the knowledge they need to make a difference in the life of every K–12 student in our schools. We believe in the influence of teachers.

We also know you lead a busy life. Our accelerated programs are tailored to your unique needs as an adult learner. Classes meet one night per week or on the weekends, much of the coursework is completed in collaborative learning teams, an entering class stays together throughout a program and programs can be completed in 24 months or less. At the same time, our programs feature the academic rigor you would expect from a leading liberal arts university.

Learners in the Reading program may choose a Reading Endorsement certificate or, with the completion of two additional courses, a Master of Arts in Education: Reading Specialist degree, which leads to Type 10 certification.

As a student in a Reading program at Olivet, you will study strategies for improving reading comprehension, assessment and diagnosis of reading difficulties, and diagnostic test interpretation. You will also use current technology that facilitates effective reading and writing instruction, and evaluation of instructional materials for learners of different ages, ability levels, and ethnic backgrounds.

Find out more about admission to this program, program coursework and other details in the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies Bulletin. You can also request more information or call us at 1-877-4OLIVET.
